Most will acknowledge and agree that the use of fos
sil fuels has been paramount to our growth and industrialization over the past century. It has fueled our lives with illumination and given us the ability to travel around the planet so that we could see for ourselves and learn from what others were doing.
The global stress surrounding our transitioning from fossil fuels to alternative forms of energy production is to say the least, daunting, due to the fact that it’s not just about electricity and gasoline.
In part three of Mr. Herman’s interview, he discusses the deeper picture in this transition, giving you a glimpse of the enormous dependence fossil fuels have gained over our everyday lives.
Mr. Herman also discusses water purification and desalination processes able to supply potable water to global desert regions where historically, water shortages have continually allowed for lower standards of living. The method of desalination he talks about is accomplished using renewable energy to deliver life-giving water for consumption and irrigation at a fraction of the cost and energy requirements to traditional methods.
